(WOIO) –The holidays are here, but your loved ones may be hundreds of miles away. That means grandma might have to get her gift without you giving it to her in person.
Sally Schriner is a Rocky River mother of two who helped launch something called “GiftGram.” It’s a way to send personal video messages along with your gift.
“As soon as their package is delivered on the doorstep, they then get the greeting at the same time. You can actually say this is why I love
you, this is why I care about you, and hope you enjoy the gift,” says Schriner, president of GiftGram.
Here’s how GiftGram works, first you record your video message. Upload it to their server and enter your e-mail address. Then you choose your shipping carrier and enter the tracking number, along with who the gift and video is from.
“We watch the package being delivered and once we see that it’s delivered, we deliver the video message,” explains Schriner.
That message arrives via computer or cell phone.
Once you get your package, you can use GiftGram to instantly thank your loved ones for your present.
This gift of “messaging” is free.
It’s a personal way to share your thoughts instantly with those you love who can’t be there with you.
